DAVAO CITY, Philippines — The Iranun Development Council (IDC) continued its institutional strengthening efforts on October 22–23 through a two-day Project Management and Organizational Development Training aimed at enhancing the capacities of its Alliance Management Office (AMO) team in managing inter-local government unit (LGU) cooperation.

The training was designed to equip the IDC-AMO with essential knowledge, tools, and systems for effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of joint development programs among member municipalities, while reinforcing accountability, coordination, and operational efficiency within the alliance.

The Alliance Management Office serves as the primary implementing and coordinating body of the IDC. It is composed of key personnel responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, facilitating inter-LGU collaboration, and supporting the execution of Council initiatives. The office includes the Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director, administrative staff, LGU focal persons such as Municipal Planning and Development Coordinators (MPDCs), and members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) covering key sectors such as oil refinery initiatives, aqua-marine and fish production, agriculture, and livestock development.

Organizers said the training forms part of the IDC’s broader efforts to professionalize and strengthen its institutional mechanisms for sustained inter-municipal cooperation and development programming.

The activity also marks the start of a series of capacity-building interventions for the AMO team, to be implemented by the Institute for Autonomy and Governance (IAG), with support from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID Philippines). Through these initiatives, the IDC aims to develop a fully functional and dynamic alliance management system that will effectively support the shared development goals of its member municipalities in the Iranun corridor.
